To fly recreationally, individuals are required to complete the Private Pilot Licence Course.
ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
- Successful completion of Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) or its equivalent for overseas cadet pilots with a minimum of five (5) credits including English, Mathematics and a Science subject
- Minimum age of seventeen (17) years
- Successful medical examination Class II with requisite certificate from DCA approved medical practitioner
- Adequate competency in the English language
COURSE DURATION
The duration of the course is eight (8) weeks / two (2) months for a total of 122 hours of flight and ground training. The course may be taken either on full-time or part-time basis.
COURSE CONTENT - FLIGHT TRAINING
Flight training consists of forty-two (42) hours of solo and dual flying.
GROUND TRAINING
Ground training consists of eighty (80) hours which includes the subjects below:-
- Aviation Law, Flight Rules and Procedures
- Aircraft General
- Navigation and Meteorology
- Radio Telephony Theory
- Radio Telephony Practical (RTOL)
- Type Technical Single Engine Aircraft
- Human Performance & Limitations
On completion of both the flight and ground training, the individuals are licenced to fly a single engine piston aircraft subject to the conditions of the Department of Civil Aviation (DCA) Malaysia. |
